By Season

Spring (March–May)

Spring is one of the best times to visit. Temperatures climb from 18°C to 22°C, wildflowers cover the Upper Rock, and the summer crowds haven't arrived. It's ideal for hiking, sightseeing and photography. Easter can be busy, so book ahead if you're travelling then.

Summer (June–August)

Summer is hot (26–30°C), dry and busy. It's peak beach and dolphin-watching season, but the midday heat makes hiking the Upper Rock uncomfortable. If you visit in summer, plan outdoor activities for early morning or evening, carry water, and use sunscreen. Book accommodation and the cable car well ahead.

Autumn (September–November)

September is warm and lively thanks to Gibraltar National Day (10 September). October is a gem — the sea is still warm enough for swimming, temperatures are pleasant (23°C), and crowds thin out. November is quieter and cooler, good for culture and indoor sights.

Winter (December–February)

Winter is the cheapest and quietest time. Temperatures are mild (16–17°C) — warmer than most of Europe — but it's the rainiest season. You'll get plenty of sunny days, and Main Street's festive lights in December are lovely. Some attractions run reduced hours. Great for a budget city break.
