Welcome to Gibraltar!

You've docked at the tip of Europe. Here's everything you need for an unforgettable few hours on the Rock.

Arriving at the Port

Disembarkation Tips

  • 1.Bring your passport — you'll need it to re-board and if crossing into Spain.
  • 2.The terminal exit is near the south end of the runway. Cross the runway on foot when the barriers are raised.
  • 3.Taxis queue just outside the terminal gate. Agree the fare before you get in.
  • 4.The Number 2 bus stops near the terminal and runs into the city centre every 15–20 minutes.
  • 5.Town centre is a flat 20-minute walk along the waterfront.

Watch the time. The runway crossing barriers lower when planes land or take off — this can cause short delays. Allow 30+ minutes to return to the ship before departure.

Money & Shopping

Gibraltar uses the Gibraltar Pound (GBP), but British pounds and Euros are widely accepted. Duty-free bargains on alcohol, tobacco, perfume and electronics on Main Street.

Watch the Clock

Always be back on board at least 30 minutes before departure. Taxis back to the port are plentiful and quick. The port is small — you won't get lost.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity

Free Wi-Fi in Casemates Square and most cafés. UK visitors: no roaming charges. EU visitors: standard EU roaming rates apply. Gibraltar is not in the EU.

Getting Around

The city centre is very walkable. Taxis are inexpensive and readily available. Note: The cable car to Upper Rock is under construction — taxis are the best alternative for reaching the Rock and attractions at the top.

Top Tips

Bring sun cream — it gets hot. Don't leave food out near the monkeys. You can cross into Spain on foot (passport needed). Most shops close on Sundays.
