Gibraltar Unlocked (also published as The Gib Guide) is an independent visitor guide to Gibraltar. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us through the contact form on this site.

Newsletter: the email address you enter when you subscribe.

Reviews: the display name you choose, your star rating and your review text, together with the account you were signed in with when you posted it.

Photos: the image you upload, any caption you add, and the email address you give us.

Business claims: your name, your email address, and details about the listing you are claiming.

Suggestions and corrections: your name, your email address, and whatever details you send about a place.

Saved places and preferences: stored in your own browser. These are not sent to us.

Technical data: basic server logs from our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept for security and fault diagnosis.

To send you the newsletter you asked for. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.

To publish reviews, photos and listing details you choose to contribute. The legal basis is your consent, given by submitting them.

To operate, secure and improve the site, and to answer messages you send us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the service.

Reviews, the display names attached to them, photo captions, and the business details you submit for publication are shown publicly on this site and may appear in search engines.

Please do not include personal information in a review or caption that you would not want to be public.

Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

Published reviews, photos and listings: until you ask us to remove them, or until we decide they are no longer current.

Business claims and corrections: up to 24 months after the matter is resolved.

Server logs: up to 90 days.

Our hosting, database and email delivery run on Base44. Images on some pages are served by Unsplash, and some maps are embedded from Google Maps. Those providers may receive your IP address when their content loads.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given.

Use the contact form and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, or in the UK to the Information Commissioner's Office.

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
